Some cats

We are a few days behind - there is just too much to do and too little time!

So we took some cats for a walk on some leads - cheetahs.  At first it was a little mundane as they kept running off but then Chester (the male cheetah we walked) got used to us and we took him (well he took us) for a walk around the area - it was sunrise so that is 2 sunrises we have been up for - not sure Rich is loving that bit of the trip.

We then drove up to Kyesna to do some sightseeing and go on a oyster tour - but we decided not to take the tour so instead just looked around the two touristy areas that have incredible views - the Heads and Thesan island.  Kyesna has a large lagoon just on the Indian Ocean and so has some spectacular views. 

Lastly we drove over to Jukani - a big cat sanctuary where tigers / lions are kept (not for breeding) just those who are no longer needed by zoos / farmers have shot and killed the cats parents.  

It was great to see the animals up this close and not in a zoo, but incredibly sad to think that there are not many more generations who will get to see a tiger other than in a book as they are almost unviable, even with captive breeding, as the gene pool is now too small.
